Ilaria founds the Rocketry Club

After years of rocketry with her family, and also living in Texas🇨🇱🤠, Ilaria decided to bring her passion and knowledge to BSS. This is the start of our journey to become the next generation of young women to break barriers in STEM!

First Launch

After a lot of rocketry lessons, we finally got to see everything in action! The team spent a cold and rainy couple of hours at Winston Churchill Park watching two low-power rocket flights (both nominal) and also learned how to punch each other.

Our First Custom Rocket, Patrick

Designed in OpenRocket, then laser cut in the BSS Design Tech Lab, Patrick Star was the Rocketry Club's first non-kit rocket. Patrick was originally designed way to big in proportion to his Estes C-63 motor, and in simulation flew only 3.6m. After adjustments, Patrick was predicted to fly 50m with his 5 pentagonal fins. He stood 32 cm tall. Unfortunately, to this day Patrick never launched, but he might one day!
